power amp

PowerAmp can't play videos can it? I though it was just an audio player.

The reason that I stopped using PowerAmp is that its volume output is lower than every other music player app that I've tried. (I tried increasing PowerAmp's output volume by adjusting the equalizer and volume/tone settings but I was unable to achieve an acceptable volume without distortion.) My LG Optimus S phone has a pretty weak output strength so I couldn't afford to compound the problem with PowerAmp's lower-than-normal output levels. Otherwise PowerAmp is a very nice music player.

I use WinAmp for music. For my needs, it's better than PowerAmp anyway. It's basically just as good of a music player. But unlike PowerAmp, WinAmp lets you sync music and playlists over WiFi (or USB) with your PC. PowerAmp can stream Internet radio (both Shoutcast stations and any station-URLs that you manually input).

MX Player is a great video player app. No volume issues for me.

Yeah MX is amazing.
I think what you want OP is a universal EQ app that affects the EQ of all sound sources so you can bump the volume up a bit. Ill try n remember the one i used on my last phone...
Theres Equalizer widget

Noozxoide work well through good headphones or good ext speakers. Doesn't do much for volume, but does great for audio quality.

I find Poweramp has the best volume on my Nexus 7.... but on some apps like Youtube it really sucks.

Yeah PowerAmp's DSP/EQ isnt universal mate, it only affects music played within the app
