Help Power button dying or software issue?

I need to push my power button a few times for my Nexus 4 to exit sleep. If I press the power button for a long time the screen will turn on.

this happens to me on ocassion, not sure if its a hardware issue or software bug, but there has been a few times where it wont turn on at all, so I have to hold the power button for 10 secs until the phone restarts
