I turned the power control widget on and don't like it on my home screen. How do I take it off my home screen?

hold it till it vibs then drag it to the bottom

Press on it until it vibrates and drag it to the bottom tab (which will turn into a trash can) and throw it away or press on it until it vibrates and drag it to either edge until it changes to the other screen and put it there. (I did option number 2 with mine.)
