if you are using the default power widget and not rooted..you cannot

other options are using power widgets from market
or using custom roms ...like cm7 ....cm7 based ..

You can't, though you could download "widgetsoid" from the market, which lets you create custom widgets for your homescreen. Probably my most used app!

If you are looking for a notification bar power control widget you need to root and choose a rom which supports that feature. I recommend CM7 if you can be bothered with rooting.
