Help Power/hold button not working

After pulling my phone offer charger today I noticed the power/hold button was not working. I tried pulling the battery to restart it, but that didn't fix it. Right now I set my screen so that it doesn't turn off. Does anyone know how to fix this? It is making my phone very difficult to use.

If you are rooted, you can install a Roms that allow you to use the volume controls to wake the phone. Seems to work a lot better IMO.

I've unrooted my phone, and Verizon is sending me a replacement some time this week. (In case anyone was wondering how this would turn out)

Sadly, I don't think my warranty is extended now that I am getting a new device :(

Mine started doing a similar thing. The power button has become almost flush with the outside of the phone. I've been too lazy to call about it. Instead, I installed a widget called No Lock that allows me to unlock the phone w/my volume buttons. I use that with an app called Screen Off FX that lets me turn off the screen without using that button on top. The downside to that app is it takes like 4 seconds to actually turn off the screen. Right now my power button still works, but I have those as backups when it's not responding very well.

Just got my replacement in the mail, and was disappointed to see it was a refurb... I didn't mind until I saw some nicks around the chrome on the earpiece (and the chrome's color is slightly dulled). It's not worth sending it back for though.

Now I just have to root it and I'll be back to normal :D

Thanks for the help everyone!
