Should PVWmdrmservice be killed too?

Should PVWmdrmservice be killed too?
Dude...I paid OVER $200 for my thunderbolt, I pay a monthly bill to Verizon for $250 PLUS over $400 for a fleet of mobile phones for my company. I don't think its too much to ask to be able to delete a POS application, that I don't want that drains the battery on my phone. I shouldn't have to go and remember to STOP a service every time I have to reboot my phone. I wonder how you would feel if Microsoft put an application in Windows that you couldn't delete that caused your computer to run slowly all the time?
I totally agree with you. I never bother with killing apps other than the ones from the Market. Whatever came with the device, I just don't bother with. I feel if I am not using them then they should not affect the battery. I use manage apps to kill Market apps. I see slacker says it's running but I never activated it. It is my opinion it is there just to be ready to start up fast. The so-called blockbuster start-ups, I see no battery being used at all as well. Might I suggest it is all the syncing, 3-4G action being used all day even when not in use. The ultimate killers are using any data like 3/4G, wifi is the best to preserve battery, however not the safest for the device. So there is a toss-up. Of course phone calls can take a lot on the battery. I've also noticed that bad signal strength as far as cell towers, can cream your battery. Check your Standby time and time without a signal that will tell it all. When you need to make a call , you have service, but when you leave to go back to your task or whatever, depending on how much time you are gone, you may lose signal. Anyway all that to say: If you don't f with Blockbuster these could be the culprits to your bad battery. Try not killing those said services and then check your battery use. Of course if you use your phone a ton then Display will a top the list. Here's to ya Thunderbolt Fam. Now here's one for ya, Where the hell is the update???This is the most frequent answer I've seen on that.
VMtpServiceStart and PVWmdrmService are related to Digital Rights Management for the blockbuster (and potentially other apps (netflix?) in the future)
Now whether you should kill it, or if it eats your battery, that I can't tell you. If it's a running process it will just start backup again when needed or called by an app needing it. Looking at VMtpServiceStart and PVWmdrmService processes in Watchdog, they don't seem to be using any of the CPU in the background, so I think the main battery usage comes not from those processes, but from whatever app is using them. If they're related to DRM, there is probably a media app open, or updating in the background like BB that is the culprit.
Just my opinion and I've been wrong before.![]()
I have not seen any battery issues with it running so I only kill the PvmtpServiceStart app.
i was being sarcastic. I freaking hate the fact that we cant have our phones the way we want.

Post your display time on. I can make my Thunderbolt last a day too If I only use it five hours in a day. Click on display and capture that. I'm curious.
On working day, side my phone isn't in use for eight hours, the battery lasts a long time.
Amen! That's why some awesome android users created rooting, the sure-fire way to customize your phone the way you want to. I've already rooted 2 Thunderbolts and counting, it's really not all that hard.
Since the rooting, both TB's have seen MUCH better battery life, thus removing my only peeve about this phone![]()
Damn it came back today and killed my battery. argh.
