Power users, especially Linux: great file manager(s)?

Well as far as file managers go I tend to just stick to Drive, and just dropbox
Neither Drive nor Dropbox is a file manager. :o

They're both places for storing files. Their apps offer file management as it pertains to files stored on their servers, so you can use them. That's why you can up- and download files to/from your phone or computer, but they're not file managers, per se.

Here's something of an update: the aforementioned MiXplorer Silver is my new obsession. :o

No, it doesn't [yet] do everything I need, specifically case sensitivity, but it's providing me endless hours of fun customizing it!

I'm communicating with its developer via e-mail and he's seeing what he can do about the case issue. But just the fact that he is so accessible, so prompt in responding, so eager to hear about and try to fix problems has me sold.

The app is much, much faster than any of the others I've used; its speed actually amazes me. While other file managers have lag times of 10, 20, 30 seconds before connecting to my network drives, it's instantaneous. Its speed doing things like moving files from/to my network blows me away.

*If* the developer gets the case issue resolved, I do believe I'll have found my go-to file manager. :)

Update: it is now my go-to file manager, even though the developer is still working on the case issue. This thing is just too much fun! :D

I've been spending hours playing with its skin settings; I'm working on a blue theme since that's my favorite color. For the first time since before I got sick, I see a spark in me brought on by having to learn what's what. :) Here's a [very small] snippet of its skin settings:

All things considered--its blazing speed, its total customization ability, many other features--I'm done looking. Of course, I'll still gladly listen to suggestions, and try other FMs, too, but I'm pretty sure this is my go-to FM.

I used to use ES too and didn't know that something happened to it. I haven't had to use it in a while since at work we transitioned to Office 365 for things I have to access on the go on a day-to-day about two-three years ago. The included Files app on my Moto's seem to have the features I need, minus cloud and network shares. I just use the Google Drive app for my personal GDrive cloud storage, and use the OneDrive app for my personal O365 and work O365 cloud storage.

Welcome to Android Forums, dgilluly! :)

Yes, ES was yanked from the Play Store last year, after it was discovered to be phoning home to China. :o Pity, because I really liked it. It is still being developed, and it's available in Apple's app store:

...but Google wants no part of it. Heads-up: if you press the 'phone' button on their site, it will download an APK file that you can install. Don't. It's not worth the risk. They promised a year ago that they would fix the problem and be back in the PS...but it hasn't happened.

I have a Moto, too--but its stock Files app is so pathetic, I don't even have it in my app drawer! :D
