PowerAMP audio player !!

I have the same problem. Interestingly, this only aplies to my external SD, tried adding stuff from the phone's internal memory, ringtone mps3, works fine. Was wondering, if the filesystem of my card would be the culprit, just took the card from my old Nokia, and lobbed it into my Galaxy S...

As a player, works flawlessly. Even understands the signals of the Nokia 3,5mm extension cord/headset. Now I just need to attach some sort of payment method to the Market... Wonder if they take checks? :D

Just thought I'd mention, after moving my music to my computer, and reformatting the sd with the phone, the folder view works.

How can I do this in PowerAmp?

I'm listening to an album from a particular artist but decide I want to listen to something else from the same artist. But instead of hitting a "back" button to get to the artist I have to go through the main menu and scroll all the way down to find the artist. You can do this with the iPod on the iPhone but both music players I've used on Android (PowerAmp, WinAmp) seem to have the same cumbersome menu setup.

I tried this in PowerAmp and got the same results - hitting the back key actually "mimimized" the app. Looked through the settings but didn't see any way to enable this. You might want to give Mixzing a try - I just tested it and it seems to do close to what you want, although you have to hit the Back key twice (first press takes you to the current album's song list, second takes you to the current artist's album list).

Yeah I just want to be able to go back to the artist of the album I'm listening to. If I click Folders/Lib it brings me to the main screen. If I tap the name of the song that is currently playing it brings me to the album I'm listening to but if you try the 'up' arrow in the upper right hand corner it just shows a list of all the albums you have NOT sorted by artist. I'd like for this to go back to the artist of the album I'm listening to.

Have tried a bunch of settings and nothing seems to work.

Also one more minor complaint about PowerAMP which is the same one I had with WinAmp. I like to listen to Dead shows, and many times the songs sort of run together without pause, yet when I'm listening to a show using PowerAmp there is a split second pause between each song. Would be much better if it just seamlessly kept playing without any pause whatsoever.

Hopefully the developer reads this thread.

Anybody know what these new swipes for the lock screen are? I can't seem to find them in the settings.

Also does anybody get the problem where all of their albums show up twice?

Sorry to bump, but I'm curious. Anyone?

Also does anybody know why after it finishes playing an album that I told it to it starts playing something I previously listened to? I didn't make a playlist or anything.

I have a bug that isn't cured by restarting my phone.

Whenever the PowerAMP process is running and i turn my display off, a couple seconds later it turns back on once for 10 seconds or so until the timer runs out and the display automatically turns off, not to turn back on after the first time it comes back on.

Same thing happens if it is charging except it doesn't stop cycling. It will continue turning the display on after a few seconds of it flipping off and automatically shutting it back off.

Is anyone else having this problem? Aside from this bug, this media player is perfect.

I've had my screen come on like that a couple times too, but not constantly. Maybe turn off the lockscreen widget and see if that fixes it?

i have the paid edition of poweramp. I downloaded from realplayer the Rhianna's album Load. The song plays fine on the HTC Sense Music Player but it wont play on PowerAmp. I have the music saved to the microsd card under the default music area the Rhianna then Loud folder. When I go to play the music from the album it says to many bad files and wont play them.

I sent an email to the developer along with a copy of one of the songs per the developers request.

Has anyone else ran into this issue

Other then that the power amp player seems really great.

Do not install this app, it left my Galaxy S a horrible buggy mess. It is at best defective and at worst spyware. It cause all my home launcher programs (touchwiz and Launcher pro) to crash on start up, as well as froze my notification bar. it also kept poping up the warning symbol (red triangle with exclamation mark) asking me to unmount my sd card. It also Every time started up my skype every time on start up which is why I believe it to be spyware (PROBABLY trying to send sms to my contatcs in order to get them to go to virus sites or something). The only way to resore my phone to normal (uninstalling didnt work) was to factory wipe and hard reset my phone. AVOID AT ALL COSTS, or you

anyone else notice that this was this guys 1st post? I'm thinking competitor..

You're probably right.

Nothing like that is happening on my phone.

Poster made it sound like anything that can go wrong did go wrong on his phone.

If it was a true post, he has other issues that PowerAmp wasn't responsible for.

Nope, don't get that problem but I do know what the swipes are!!
They're a function that I've been direly missing, swipe album art left or right on the lockscreen to change song/album.
Very handy for changing tracks without looking, which is quite important while driving.

Oh ok, I thought it might be something like that. Thanks!

I was hoping for it to be a swipe to unlock on the lock screen instead of the one button.

I love PowerAmp, but can't figure out how to sort the music by Genre. When I click on Genre, my music is sorted by artist?!

Help,
Confused in KY:(

Currently running the trial version of this which has expired.

The thing is that the player still works just fine, all that happens now the trail has expired is that a pop up box opens asking me to buy the paid version. If I close this pop up the player carries on working.

What is to be gained by paying for the player apart from getting rid of the pop up box?

Everything seems to be working just great, are there any extra features I'm mssing by not paying for it?

i DL'd the trial and bought the full version the next day, last week. My issue is anytime i reboot the phone, the widget for it dissappears and i cannot get it back unless i uninstall the app and reinstall it. It is wierd. I reboot, widgets gone. I can run the app fine, but even if i try to add a widget it is no longer listed on the widget list. If i uninstall and reinstall it is back on the widget list again.

Is there anyway to fix this? I do not like having to go through a few steps just to get a widget back everytime i reboot.

PowerAmp need to support "Album Artist". If you have an album with many artists you also get many artist to search through in the Artist menu. I prefer search Artist first and then the albums of that artist. It makes the list shorter and the search faster. But that is only possible if the player reads the Album Artist tag.

I purchased the full app soon after i downloaded the free trial. I love it. The only problem I have run into is when trying to use my BT headphones, sometimes it will lock up. I don't often use them so it's not really a problem anyway. I do wish there was a search function in the app though. Is there one and I am just missing it?

Just buy it! If you are looking for a quality media player for Android, PowerAmp is incredible! The developer deserves compensation.

Just my ten cents.
