Help Powersaving mode broken?

DeFeCT79

Lurker
Im confused, i tried out the powersaving mode a few times during sleep, and everytime i use it, it drains more battery over night than if i dont use it.

Its set to disable everything, like background data, Wi-Fi etc.

It drains around 15-20% in 6-8 hours with this on.

And drains maybe 4-5% if i dont use it....

The phone is updated and no app that is out of date either.
I also use Appkiller, and i kill all running apps before i set the powersaving mode on

Am i missing something?

I find the power saving app to be useless, whenever I look at my running apps it just keeps trying to restart itself which drains the battery like crazy.

Why don't you just put your phone into airplane mode, that's what I do ;)

Thats one option, but i i need the phone to work with incoming calls, even during the night =)

I guess i just skip the powersaving. 4% drain without it, isnt that much of a problem =)

Yep app killers drain more battery.

Just turn off your data manually of a night and set your phone to gsm, your phone should go into a good deep sleep but you will still get your calls.

Please explain the appkiller no no =)

The phone starts insane amounts of apps that i dont even started myselfe or use, and they cant be removed either, since i dont want to root the phone.

is it better to let the phone handle it, with apps i mean. I have no use for Google Talk for instanse, but the phone insists that i run it?

everyone is talking about how good the app killer is? if you check the comments on Google Play that is

Since gingerbread android does a very good job in memory management, those apps are kept in the memory for faster loading times, and when you need more memory android will close them.
If you use an app killer then all you are doing is forcing those apps to constantly re start which then uses more battery.

If you really don't want these apps the best option is to root your phone and then freeze them with titanium backup or something similar so they don't keep restarting and draining your battery.

Allright, thanks for info =)
I have uninstalled it now hehe

Edit: Is it best to use "Back" to exit a program or just press "home" button?

using back button seems to close the program, atleast to some extent as it takes longer to open it again.

Is there any Pros and Cons using one or the other, memory, battery-wise?

The back button does close or should close the app, the home button just shrinks it into the background

You got it in one Del...

Back on topic, try Go power master, it's the best I've used so far.

You can set up your own modes but the super saver mode let's you still make and receive calls and texts but over night it uses only 1-2% battery.
