There is no way. You can either get a task killer to kill them or just restart your phone. After that, remove them from your home screens and let them chill in your app drawer.
hopefully the folks at xda will give you your freedom. I don't know if anyone is actively working on it since it's not exactly a high profile device like the Evo or Incredible, but we'll see.
