Predictions/Thoughts on Sprint/Motorola Luncheon Announcements 12:30 - 2:30pm EST?

EVO 3D, Photon, Within...why can't the best of each of these be in one phone? i would take the: Within Super AMOLED Plus, internal 32Gb and processor, EVO 3D camera and Sense, Photon world radios and kickstand.

Throw in a full KB slider or make it as thin as the Within...yum.

Now THAT sounds like a superphone...LOL. If anybody should make that type of superphone, I'd think that Google would do it.

Sounds expensive.

You forgot to specify that it needs to be wide open for rotting/modification.

The world phone has me excited, but Moto as the manufacturer doesn't. I have gone without it though for a few years, I think I'll survive longer without it.

Objectively reflecting back on it, I didn't really use the world phone features of my TP2 either, I just checked email and other b.s..... so I am not sure I want those extra radios creating extra thickness (or even possibly eating away at the large battery taht the Atrix came with?)

Actually rumors have been leaning more towards LG, but I really hope that its made by Samsung - best hardware and vanilla with fast updates!!

I see.

If it's Samsung, I'd actually be more hesitant. Hardware is nice for sure, but until they get a better track record with support, I won't jump to getting a device made by them.

I'd love a world phone as well. But I've survived without it before, and I can again -- usually if I'm traveling to other countries it's for work and I'll either have a laptop+skype, or borrow a work phone. So it's not a huge necessity.

16GB internal is admittedly nice, but it's pretty cheap+easy to get a 32GB SD, so again, I'm not too fussed. I should go try out an Atrix and see what I think of an LCD Pentile in person. And I like the idea of a kickstand, but I'm likely to buy a dock for home and work anyway (assuming I get the EVO 3D).

Having said all that, I'm still really liking the Photon. I reading correctly that we're back to the nebulous "summer" release date again though?!

Again, darn Sprint for giving us too many good choices!
- EVO3D: qHD, 3D, HTC, Sense, unlocked
- Within: SAMOLED+, 32GB, thin (all assumed)
- Photon: qHD, world phone, Tegra, 16GB, locked?

Like I said, world phone part is just a nice option to have.

As for the internal memory, it's huge for apps that can't be transferred to sd. Plus, I already have a 32gb card and it's almost full because of what I do for a living.

Kickstand on thw photon was clearly designed for on-the-go, while you're out, use. The phone sits on the side where the micro-usb port is located, so it's not possible to charge.

I plan on getting the dock too, but not sure about the car dock because it doesn't look like it's designed like the htc car docks where the charger plugs into the base.

Wait, what? The Within won't have a microSD slot?

No clue where you got that from what I said.

Only reason Within is behind the photon for me ia because of samsung's history of phone support. Otherwise, it'd be right there with the photon as far as upgrade 4 me.

But the manufacturer does barely anything with software when it comes to Nexus phones, its Google that deals with updates and the other software. so you'd be getting the best of both worlds with Samsung as the manufacturer (i.e Nexus S a Google phone by Samsung)

Good point, but with the nexus s just being released fairly recently, that'll be some time until the nexus 3 is released.

So photon 4g july or august, then nexus 3 in a year.

Read between the lines.

It means that this phone isn't much better than my EVO and if I was going to buy a new phone over my EVO I'd rather buy a WinMob phone that worked.

Topic enough for you?

Lol that makes more sense now. Hard to read the meaning on the Internet sometimes.

If i had not just gotten the nexus, I would definitely get this. But I can't go back to knowing my updates come from Motorola/HTC/Samsung/LG.

I'd consider this phone, and I'm far from being a Tegra/Blur/Motorola fan.

It makes sense from a productivity prospective if all the features touted make it to the final build.

The Evo3D is a multimedia phone, while this can be seen as a productivity phone.

Though, I do like being emancipated from bloatware, and slow updates. The Nexus S is king when it comes to that. But, as a student, and soldier, I do see the value in a productivity phone that works when I am overseas. The wipe feature would be gold as well.
