Help Preferred predictive text word?

Hi, I absolutely love my HTC DHD however there is one annoying thing I have found that is really getting on the nerves!
When texting on my old phone on predictive text, it remembered after 3 times my most used word with those letters typed and was the first option to come up. One the HD, it never remembers it so when I type 'the', the word 'vie' always comes up. Yes its only one touch to change it but its really annoying. Any ideas how to change the preferred word or delete the other?

You can remove words from the personal dictionary

Settings -> Language & Keyboard -> Touch Input -> Personal Dictionary -> Edit Personal Dictionary.

So yeah, it's really easy to find :p

However, if you continually select one word over the other, the dictionary will eventually learn what your preferred word is.
 
Thanks very much for that. 'vie' wasn't in my personal dictionary so I couldn't get rid of it. I just wasn't sure if it would learn my preferred word or not. Any idea how long this takes :P.? The Nokia did it after 3 times.
 
In the text msg just keep inputing the same word you want to show up in 1st place of predictive text! for me it was 5 time then the "vie" move up one and "the" was the 1st one in predictive text.
 
I've noticed since a recent factory reset that it takes between 5 - 10 times.

Another minor irritant is that when you add a word it doesn't auto input that word into your text you are working on like my other phones used to.
 
...or in text click the down arrow ad the end of the selection of words and select add word, then add the word you want, (even though it may already be a later choice) i think that then it may put it to the top of the list so next time you type it, its there straight off.
 
I had the same problem with my Wildfire S. After writing a weird sentence that had a lot of 'the's, it worked. Now it picks 'the' instead of 'vie' I think there were 5 or so times when i had to manually select it.

I just did this, hope it stays that way :)
