Root Preferred rooting method (DL09)

I swear I've read 4-5 different ways to root my fascinate. Before I jump into this I'm just curious if there is a preferred method for rooting my stock phone.

Sub question: It looks like there is mostly voodoo 5 kernels out. Is the immediate jump into voodoo 5 that huge? I've read that 4 and less were more difficult.

please read up on kernels and whatnot before flashing them. you need to know how to flash roms/kernels before flashing a voodoo and enabling/disabling or you could really jack up your phone.

Then again, if you're on DI01 or DJ05 you can always use z4root to do it too.

Yeah, that's didn't exactly work 100% due to the new DL09 kernel overwriting CWR. So I kinda followed both that and Modified CWMrecovery for Odin (DJ05/DL09) Plus new root instructions (Updated 1/15)

I like the FascinateRoot_v02 version. It's just a few clicks here and there and does the job damn good. BUT I also really like THIS method because it is fail free if you do it step by step exactly.

K i have tried to work with odin but i cant get odin to recognize my phone (fascinate stock ) is recovery mode the same as download mode? if not how do you access is?

For download mode remove battery, hold down volume key, and plug in usb while holding the volume down

just a small clarification, that would be the volume "down" key if you didn't understand the from Dave's post.
