Help preloaded games not loading

My GF has the Xperia Play, after a recent update all of the preloaded games have stopped working. They all error out at different times. madden and sims never load, the others usually get to a menu before crashing. Any idea what would cause this?

There could be a couple of problems causing this. The first thing to do is power the phone off, remove and reinsert both the battery and memory card (please ensure the back cover is securely placed back on or the phone will not read the memory card). If this does not resolve this issue then I would advise running a repair via the PC Companion software.

It looks like part of the problem was not having the back cover on tight enough, causing the sd card to not mount properly. The issue now is, the phone recognizes the card and I am able to save photos/music/etc to it, but any games run through xperia play still cannot recognize the SD card. I found a suggestion saying tightening some screws in the back could solve this issue, I may take it in to verizon to take a look at.

Thanks, I'll keep updating.
