Preorder Bestbuy

I'd put money on that article just being loaded with misinformation.

I think it's one of those sites designed to get page views for ad $$$. They list other phones on the site and guess what? The majority of them also sell for $199 so I think it's safe to say that the phone will not be $199.

it is definitely a 1 GHz cpu phone as i don't think the section stating 800 MHz applies to the cpu since it's under "technology details", which is according to the site is the wireless technology the phone uses, not the speed of it's processor. for instance, the same section for the optimus v states 1900 MHz, not 600 MHz. i could be wrong, but that's what the circumstances appear to be.

correctomundo the triumph has a cdma 800/1900mhz radio. some websites also state that it is coming with gps for example qualcomms wiki Snapdragon (system on chip) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia says that the msm8655 supports GSM, WCDMA, & CDMA thats worldwide baby!

I would just wait if you can and pick it up from Target or Radio Shack. I am jumping the gun because I have to have it - my son is getting my OV to replace his phone. I am so tired of his Cricket service which is a hassle every month with their website.

What problem's did you have with cricket? I'm with cricket and never had problem's, I'm switching because of the phone choices and it's cheaper. As far as service, never had a problem.

That article might be true in the sense that Bestbuy is charging more than what the phone will cost for preorders so they don't lose money. See post #21.

"Contract with Virgin Mobile., price $199."

:confused::confused::confused:

The webpage has been updated now with "Contract with Virgin Mobile., price $199" crossed out and a link to Best Buy's pre-order page.

I intend to get the Triumph on 7/19. I think that $299.99 is a very fair price for a smartphone with these features, but I still really hope that the actual price ends up being even lower as mewikime says might be a possibility in his post above.

Soooo..... Best Buy charged my payment today for the Phone. Which wasn't supposed to be done until the phone was close to shipment. Sooo... does that mean it's going out soon? I ordered June 24th. Getting it a week early would solve multiple problems for me.

Anybody else have the payment charged against their credit card?

Sounds like you just might get it earlier... companies aren't supposed to charge your card until the product(s) are ready to ship... they can get into trouble by charging early IF you make a complaint...

My BB card was also charged-- I just noticed it now after reading ^ post.......

I don't know if it was charged today or when I ordered it on June 24th...... Just sayin...

*can't wait!!!!!*

I too noticed that my credit card had been charged by BB on 7/3 for the Triumph. I was hoping it was an early ship, no such luck. I just spoke to support at BestBuy and they said that it wasn't actually charged, but that they were ensuring that the funds were available. Bottom line, if I cut my order today I would get refunded quicker than after they actually remove funds.

The support person did confirm that if the actual price is less than pre-order price, I will get a refund, and if it is more, I don't pay any more.

If the BB price comes down within 30 days after I receive my phone they will reduce my price. However if RadioShack or Target have a lower price then I am pretty much hosed.

Ok so are you saying that their price match guarantee doesn't apply?

Actually they placed that phantom charge for mine on June 24, and it came off - the one they place to see if there are sufficient funds. The latest charge is still there since the other day.

I think it's a hold. They probably hold the $300 so that you can't use it so they don't get screwed when you don't have the $300 when it's time to ship

You are likely correct. We'll see. If so, that's a lot of money to tie up for weeks. That's why I like dealing with Amazon. They charge when they ship.

Will someone just tell me to pre-order or wait for it to come out in stores? The pressure is killing me because my old phone the rumor touch was good but its not android and is almost dead.:(

There is no significant incentive for pre-ordering from Best Buy. This isn't an iPhone or a Galaxy S2 so if you order right when its released they will still likely have stock. There will also likely be discounts or promotions from other resellers after launch - this has been the case with other "premium" VM android handsets too.

Actually if one can receive it on the 19th one can beat the coming increases. I concede that may be only possible with an in-store purchase. Of course if you are getting the unlimited everything the cost is actually going down.

I just can't see buying a phone I've never held in my hand, or even seen in person.

So.... Who's going to be the first to attempt SuperOneClick?

lol

That's when they're SUPPOSED to charge by their agreements with the CC companies.

A number of years ago I had one clown charge me for an order and then never send anything, so I wrote a nice little letter to the bank along with receipt copies, etc. and had a refund by next billing cycle. Handy to let the bank/VISA's lawyers go ape on them and cheaper...

I want to know for sure that the bootloader is unlocked first.
even if it isn't the phone with stock 2.2 is still a nice touch,i would love to see the dev's go crazy with it,but even if they cant its still worth what they are asking for.

i bought an HTC 8125 unlocked years ago and it ran me $500 at the time it was a "nice" phone but compared to what you can get now with $500 the 8125 is considered junk.
