Just noticed this. In homescreen, when i press home button 4times in quick succession, it turns on negative colours. Another 4 times turns it off.. is this stock?

no, the night mode only available on Siyah kernel. I had the question as you.

I dunno, but I definitely wouldn't do it again.
Absolutely no harm is done. It is built in "night mode" in Siyah kernal. It reverse the colour of the screen.
Very useful function when you want night mode across the whole phone, as you don't have to switch to mode in individual apps and most apps don't even have night mode.
