prevent data closing on screen lock?

How do you prevent your data connections closing on screen lock?

I set this up some time ago to save battery but now need to take it off again so all connections stay alive.

Is it an app you used? Maybe Juice Defender? Just uninstall the app. It isnt an android setting

I know you can set WiFi to shut off during sleep.
Settings / Wi-Fi (the word, not the switch) / Menu key / Advanced / Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep and set it to Always, when plugged in, or Never.

You can toggle cell data on and off via the Notification toggles, Airplane mode, or Settings/More Settings/Mobile networks/uncheck Mobile data, but there is no setting to turn it off during sleep mode, Not even under Settings/Power saving mode.

These settings may be slightly different depending on your phone, OS, etc.

Depends on the Device & OS version. What are you running?

I've a handset running GB, if I head to Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Mobile Networks -> Always On Mobile Data, there's a checkbox which is unchecked will put my connections to sleep when I'm not using them.

Not sure if that is device specific though
