Help Prevent dimming entirely

Hello,

I have tried about 15 apps and widgets that claim to prevent the screen from dimming, not a one of them works. Is there ANYTHING for the Note that will do this? Please don't ask me why on earth I'd want to do this, that just shows total ignorance, many of us use our phones while docked to do certain things that the dimming is annoying as hell with. (i.e. GPS and other features while driving for example). I just want the damned phone to stop dimming, not after 5 minutes, not after 15 minutes, not after 500 years, just NEVER FREAKING DIM! EVER! I understand, this is supposed to save battery life, but here's a tip, turn the friggin' thing off when you aren't using it, it saves a lot more battery life. If my phone is on, I want to be able to see it clearly, all the time, not just for a specific time period. I find screen dimming to be the most obnoxious "feature" on any device, be it smartphone, tablet, computer or anything else. I absolutely loath the way you're forced to use this "feature" and aren't even given a built in option to disable it. Of all the things about the iPhone I could claim I miss, this would be one of the very few. It wouldn't make me go back to crApple, but it does annoy the heck out of me.

Please, someone tell me there's a way to stop this thing from dimming.

I have Profile Scheduler+. You can setup a rule or profile and set screen timeout to never. Not sure if it works as I never tried it. I'm afraid of screen burn in if I leave on too long with no activity on screen.

I agree that in certain situations, you really want the screen to be constantly on and not dim or shut off. It's more out of neccessity than anything else.

I don't know if it's available on the Android Market, but I once got "Screebl Pro" as a free app of the day from the Amazon Appstore. Try that.

Nope, nothing worked until I found one called "Screen Timeout Toggle", bit of a wordy name, but it does the job.

I think you could acomplish this with no 3rd party app. I like my screen on 100 / 100% of the time too, and I was able to do it without a 3rd party app. Just go into the settings of whatever is dimming and set it to never dim.

No, that never worked for me. It always dimmed no matter what. It's okay, I don't mind using this little app.

To prevent "dimming", I disabled all "automatic" screen management options.

To prevent the screen from "turning off", I use the app "Quick Settings" (by Halfbit). Quick settings also provides additional phone controls.
