press hangup button, then immediately hit home button.

That's the danger of a capacitive touchscreen, you have to be careful, as they are very sensitive.

freakish huh? my sister has alerted me of a few as well, and while I don't have a wife I have a sorta boyfriend who I definately probably wouldn't want him to happen upon a conversation or two i'm having with people in his regard! lmaooooo i'm loving being a fly on the wall for this thread!

Ok, my problem is not redialing, but I have a condition that makes my hands shake a litttle, and when I go to touch a contact, my hand will jerk, and I'll hit the contact next to the one I want. By the time I manage to end call, it's already ringing. Is there any app for the 1.6 that will require you to confirm (contact) (dial) whatever before it actually dials?

You might try scrolling and selecting with the trackball, if your motor function is sufficient to use such a small trackball.

To the OP, I've found that backing out of the dialer before putting the phone back in my pocket has prevented accidental dials.

+1 for call confirm

not call log works great for me

not call log works for me also - it makes it so that the contact screen closes when you end the call.

My husband uses call confirm to choose the right contact.

Not Call Log is great to prevent accidentally hitting a contact in your call log after you finish a call. If you're having issues with hitting direct dial icons on your home screen, we just released Sign, which is a gesture-based speed dial. It prevents accidental/incidental calls because you have to activate the gesture recognition widget and then sign from the home screen. There's more info here.

Sign also includes a call confirmation feature which can be set from 1 to 4 seconds.

I had been using Smart Dialer which worked great, even when connected by Bluetooth. However, after the Evo update last week it doesn't work any longer. I emailed the developer who said he was going to release an update next week...we shall see.
