Well, everyone is different, but I made the exact same move (from iPhone 4 to HTC One X+), and I've actually been SURPRISED by how much I DON'T miss my iPhone. The One X+ does everything I need it to do, and then some. But I suppose it all depends on your reasons for wanting to do the switch. For me, size was the primary reason: I desperately wanted a phone with a larger screen (and one that was sufficiently bright, which ruled out the Samsung Galaxy S3). The One X+ gave me what I was seeking. The customizability is an added bonus. Android has hit a point now where it is pretty much on par with iOS in terms of smoothness & fluidity, so I don't miss anything in terms of performance. Going in, I was fairly concerned that I might miss iMessage: ALL my friends have iPhones (I'm the ONLY Android in the bunch), so I was worried about letting go of that. But now that I've made the transition, this has become a moot point. My iPhone friends send me regular SMS & MMS messages instead. It's still the same data; the same pictures coming across (It's just not FREE, I suppose. But I'm on a company phone, so I don't receive the bills anyway). If there's anything I "miss" from iPhone, I suppose it would just be being first in line for app updates. There is still a climate out there (changing, but slowly) where a lot of mainstream apps are developed for iPhone first, Android later. And then, when there are design/interface updates to those apps, they don't bother to update the Android version, so it's stuck with the old design. Examples of apps like this are the CNN app, Zite (OWNED by CNN), and (sadly) GMail. I certainly wouldn't mind if Android versions were given equal priority in the development community, but that does not appear to be the case (...at least not right now. With Android's market penetration, I would find it hard to believe that this situation could continue perpetually). Otherwise, though, I really don't miss my iPhone at all. Your mileage may vary. If you're a heavy iTunes user, it may be harder for you (for the record, I STILL use iTunes for music playback on my Mac. I just don't sync my phone with it). And I suppose if you're deeply entrenched in the Apple ecosystem (sharing data with an iPad, or other iPhones in your household), it might be difficult, but again, I don't have this problem. Lastly, I guess it's worth mentioning that the One X+, while GREAT, does have its quirks. Browser tabs reload every time you leave them & come back (that can be annoying sometimes, though the saving grace is that the stock browser returns you to the same spot on the page where you left off. Other browsers, I'm not so sure about). There are other things as well (small things), which, before I got the phone, I was quite concerned about, but which in practice have turned out to not be a big deal at all (things like the unusual multitasking approach). I thought the quirks would bother me much more than they do. They don't, though. Overall, I've VERY impressed with this phone, and (dare I say?) like it A LOT more than my iPhone. It might be well worth giving it a try.
Admission: The iPhone has a better camera. This is particularly evident in low-light situations. But I don't take very many pictures with my phone, so this hasn't been much of an issue for me. Might be something to consider for you, though.
Hope this helps!
