ADB stands for Android Developer Bridge. It's included in the Android SDK. If you don't know what it is, using it would probably be a bit beyond your comfort level.

Basically, you'll need to grab the Android SDK and "install" it (basically just unzipping it). You'll plug your phone into your computer with the USB cable and enable USB Debugging (Menu>Applications>Development). Then you'll need to install the ADB drivers, which are included with the SDK but can be a bit finicky depending on your version of Windows/OSX.

Assuming you can get it all set up, then all you do is open up a command prompt window and cd your way to your SDK directory. Then you can use the adb command in the command prompt as shown in my previous post.

As I said, it's likely outside of your comfort level. Have any tech savvy friends who might understand and can help walk you through it in person?

Yeah that does sound a bit too much just to uninstall this stupid app.... it still will not uninstall and the prey app is actually functional even though Ive tried to uninstall like 30 times... any other things I can do???

Noone knows any way to help me uninstall this app???? Prey app will not uninstall from nexus s

Boot into the recovery mode and wipe the /data partition and cache, lol. You'll lose all of your settings and apps, but at least it'll be uninstalled.

You could try wiping the cache (not /data) from within the recovery menu. That shouldn't lose any of your data and may make it so that you can uninstall the app normally. Worth a shot anyways.

To be able to uninstall prey there are several things you need to do within the app itself.

Firstly you need to 'Revoke extra permissions' within the app.
Then you'll need to go into 'Execution control' and then 'Stop Prey'. Lastly you'll need to go into 'Account management' and then Detatch the phone.

You should then be able to uninstall the app from the android market only.

Dude Boothishere01, you are the ****IN man! Worked exactly like you said... I knew this app was a bitch but I didnt know it had its own settings I needed to deactivate to uninstall!! Seriously, I bet there are 1000 people with Prey on their phone who cant uninstall! Thanks again

It is hard to uninstall for a reason...to be secure.
Prey is an app that helps you find your phone if it is lost or stolen. The app makes it difficult or near impossible for the thief to uninstall the app without the password. It's supposed to work that way.

The app tells you this when you install it, and tells you what you have to do to uninstall it.

Read the instructions next time and don't be so quick to blame the app.
