Root PRI and RADIO wont update?

well ived downloaded the newer versions, and i delete cache and delvik just incase. when i go to update the PRI it works good nothing shows that it was aborted, but when i reboot phone it still shows the 1.34_003 PRI and not the 1.90_003..

also when i go to update my RADIO in recovery, it shows that the action was aborted... and wont update. current baseband version is 1.36..

Thanks for taking over Akaza, I get nervous with radio fixes. :D

@Tooill: Akazabam is like the kung fu master around here, he'll get you fixed up right quick! :)

Lol, no need to be nervous. We're only asking questions so far :). If you have any input or questions, feel free to keep responding.

the zips im getting off the XDA forums the latest ones, and i unzip them directly from the recovery, and i have version 3.0.0.5

I think your recovery is the issue here. You should be using Clockwork Mod 2.6.XX, or preferably Amon-RA. Most folks will tell you to use Amon-ra because CWM has been known to cause issues in the past.

Akazabam is the recovery master, so I'd take his advice here. I'm just putting my two cents in. :)

Something isn't adding up here. Those radio/pri version don't sound familiar (and I have a table with most of the OTA update radio/pri versions), plus they sound far to old to be paired with hboot 2.02. This *is* an Evo 4g, right :)? As far as the radio update, though, it's in amend, for some reason, so you'd need to downgrade to CW 2.6.0.1 or just flash the combo update, which includes baseband/pri/nv/wimax, and is in edify. Before you do any of that, though, I'd like to find out why you seem to have mismatched/weird versions. Let's do this - turn the phone off, then turn it back on while pressing and holding volume down to get to hboot. Write down everything you see there (yeah, a little tedious :)) and post it here.

Yep, that is correct. I verified in the zip that it is amend (CW 2.6.0.1, only). If you've ever wondered how to check, open a flashable zip, and go to META-INF\com\google\android. If you see a single file named update-script, it's amend. If you see two files named updater-script (note the "r") and update-binary, it's edify.

kk here i go lol

Did you flash a RUU or PC36IMG.zip at any point? It sounds like you tried to flash one with S-OFF, which would downgrade radios to whatever version the RUU included, but leave hboot at the current version, as hboot 2.02 and up cannot be downgraded that way.

clarify what RUU and PC36IMG.zip is? lol im not too pro at rooting and stuff, i kno basic things but nothing too in depth

A RUU is a ROM update utility, and is a executable (run from a computer) provided by HTC. There is a RUU for each OTA update that exists. If you connect your phone to your computer via usb, and execute it, it will wipe your phone, and flash your phone to that OTA update, including the ROM sw version, a default data partition (all user apps wiped and flashed with default), the radio versions of that OTA (baseband/pri/nv/wimax), and hboot. If you have S-ON, you can only flash one if it is the same version that you have or newer. With S-OFF, you can flash whatever you want, but if you have hboot 2.02 or above, hboot will not be downgraded with everything else if the RUU is older. Basically, a RUU is a collection of img files that will overwrite all internal partitions.

A PC36IMG.zip file is a file that contains img files. These img files are designed to overwrite internal partitions just like a RUU. The difference is that a PC36IMG.zip file is flashed from hboot. Meaning that you place the PC36IMG.zip file on the root (top level) of your sdcard. It doesn't involve using a computer. When you turn the phone on and go to hboot, it will scan for files like this. If it finds one, it will prompt you to flash it. Another difference is that a PC36IMG.zip files can contain whatever img files you want. If you have S-ON, the same rules as a RUU apply. If you have S-OFF, you are free to flash whatever unsigned img files you want to whatever partitions you want. It's useful for flashing a different recovery, for example. In the case I was referring to, though, you can take all the contents of a RUU and put it in a PC36IMG.zip. Doing that will be exactly the same as flashing a RUU, but simpler (no computer involved). Again, the same rules apply. As you have hboot 2.02, if you flash a RUU or PC36IMG.zip file with the contents of a RUU that is older than hboot 2.02, you would end up with the older radio versions, but still have hboot 2.02.

Are you using a custom ROM right now or stock? If you go to menu->settings->about phone->software information, what do you see?

atm im running kings basixtreme R4, but im constantly switching roms looking for the perfect one for me lol, i wanna change the one i have now cuz of battery, its not that good -.-..

Okay, so you never did anything like I described above (PC36IMG or RUU)? Did you ever unroot at any point? In any case, let's start with this. Either downgrade to CW 2.6.0.1 and flash the radio update, or just download and flash the combo update. If you want CW 2.6.0.1, you can get it, along with instructions for flashing it, from the link in my sig. Let's start with that, and see what happens.

no never did anything of the sort lol, imma try downgrading to 2.6 because ived tried just flashing the Radio and stuff combo and nothing really happened

working on it now, just did the whole CW downgrade process, now imma download the combo again seems like i had erased it yesterday, once i download ill flash and come back with results
