Price Point

I understand that Samsung will offer an unlocked version of the Note 7. "Unlocked" means it will not have customized carrier software or SIM restrictions; however, I doubt that Samsung will offer a developer version with an unlocked bootloader.

Thanks for the info! It would be great to have Dev edition with unlocked bootloader, but I wasn't expecting there to be.

I was very surprised - pleasantly so - when Samsung offered the Verizon Note 4 Developer Edition. No doubt VZW had a one-way conversation with Sammy after that... I would not anticipate a repeat any time soon.

In case the Note 7 turns out to be too expensive for me, I've been looking at prices of the 32GB Galaxy S7 Edge. The following prices are from the Samsung site:
  • Unlocked: $769.99
  • AT&T: $794.99
  • Sprint: $749.99
  • T-Mobile: $789.99
  • Verizon: $792.99
And here is a price for a new unlocked phone from eBay:
  • Unlocked: $633.88
I wonder how long it will be before a new factory unlocked Note 7 shows up on eBay?
