Root Prl swap?

You have to do it through QPST.

60690 is the latest for Sprint, for me it seems to have filled in a few small coverage gaps.

How to Update PRL Manually:

1. You must have your respected device's drivers installed prior to starting.
2. Download and Install QPST 2.7 - Build 366
3. Open QPST Configuration in the "QPST" folder under Programs
4. Disable debugging on your device
5. Type one of the following codes in you respected device's dialer and switch to "CP" or "Modem"

*HTC EVO 3D: ##3424#

6. Plug in your device
7. Click on the “Ports” tab and “Add a new port”
8. Select the “COMXX – USB\QC Diagnostic” and click ok. If you don’t see a port, uncheck the box for "Show Serial and USB/QC Diagnostic ports only" and add all of the USB/Unknown ports. One of them should show an active phone.
9. Click “Start Clients” on the top of the program and open Service Programming
10. Select your device
11. Click "Read from Phone" and enter "XXXXXX" (Get from MSL Reader off the market)
12. Click the "Roam" tab
13. Click "Browse" and select the PRL you wish to use
14. Click "Write to Phone"
15. Phone should reboot with the PRL you specified

Read through the link below before doing this. Make sure you extract the .zip to expose the .prl file. I am not responsible if this breaks your phone.

All information above was copied from here.

Sometimes reading from phone won't work to get the MSL.
On the Play store there is an app that will grab it for you, search for for MSL reader, should be the first result.

I know, I a dumb question but No problems with 4g after switching the PRL? Have never switched a prl before but since I get zero signal in my office and other sprint users can thought it might be worth a try.

When I put in ##3424# I get to the DM Command Service, but I cannot find how to switch to CP or modem.

I'm on MeanROM.

I just did that, but my phone does not show up in QPST.

When I plug it in, Windows gives me the error that the drivers were not installed sucessfully, but I have the drivers for my phone installed already.

I've already installed the drivers through HTC Sync...though I have HTC Sync uninstalled for the S-off procedure, but I should still have the drivers.

I have the same issue except all of mine is saying the drivers installed correctly but still nothing in qpst.

Alright, so I fixed my problem. It was because I didn't have the DIAG drivers installed. The regular HTC Drivers were installed correctly, but I needed these Diag drivers. For people who may be having my problems, follow the instructions here to install those drivers

PRL helps catch more towers, keeping you locked on.
PRI helps some with fluctuations, but also helps with time out errors, but it still fluctuates, just not as wildly.

Which leads me to think the radio is also part of the issue.

You may be able to connect to the phone while in bootloader, if so, you are fine, otherwise, you will need a stock, Sense based rom and go into diagnostic mode.
