Root Prl update options in CTMOD 3.3 and sluggish 3g

I get 20 kbs according to WiFi Tether on CTMod 3.3. On 3.1.2 I was getting speeds of over 1200 kbs. It dropped in certain areas but even then it was over 600 kbs. I asked Bloodawn and nothing has been changed that relates to 3G. I went back to 3.1.2 and speeds went back up. I'm going to try 3.3 again when I have time to do it.

I don't know about it being sluggish though. Before I used tether I updated some apps and browsed Market (or whatever they call it now) and everything seemed ok.
 
I was just hoping for a boost. Anything to give me a glimmer of hope where my 3g is concerned. I really like everything else about the rom, especially the speed and response. Fastest my prevail has ever run!
 
There's a way to flash prls you guys will have to look it up so ce I'm on a Phone and can't provide links so easily.
 
Yes it will work for CTMod . All it does is give you the ability to change the PRL . If you get better signal from a different PRL then you'll probably get better speed .
 
The only way that I know and have ever used is with CDMA . I'm not sure but a Google search may give you another option .

if that won't work for you

make a cwm backup, flash CTMod 2.5, change your PRL, boot into recovery and restore your backup
 
I ended up Odin to ej06, update prl, then fa19 and CT Mod 3.3. Worked great, just had to reinstall all apps. Thanks for all the suggestions!
 
I apologize . I thought that you actually wanted to change the PRL from stock to a different one , not just update it .
If you like updating your PRL frequently , I would keep a backup of CTMod 2.5 on my sd card . That way you can do a CWM restore , change it , then flash back to 3.3 .
