Ok I have a question for anybody who can help. I was always under the impression that Boost uses Sprints network and the service was close. Today at my job where my reception totally stinks his Sprint HTC EVO had nearly all the bars showing. I couldn't believe the difference when comparing his phone and mine. I have never really researched changing my PRL and am not too familiar with that. If I change my PRL will I get better reception ? Is there a way to get better reception ? Believe this or not I downloaded an app called Network Booster Free and it did make a slight improvement. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
 
Apps can not have an impact on your signal strength, they just can't.


Updating your prl/profile will ensure that you have the best connection possible.
 
it certainly helped my reception. with 60687 prl i get 1300-2400 kbps on 3g and no dead zones in my town. default prl had much slower 3g speed and i lose reception on my way to work .

try out several ones, see if it makes any difference. can always change it back if it doesnt work better :D

Any good guides on how to change my prl on this phone and pros for my area? Or are prl's universal and can I change them to anything or are they specific to my area?
 
Find a good prl file to download. if you google search for sprint prl download you can find them. put the prl file on your sd card. dial ##775# on the phone pad, select your desired prl file. menu button in the upper right hand corner, select commit changes.

you can check the prl version under settings, about phone, software.

try 60687 and 11114 first those seems to be the best ones for most people i am doing the best with 11114 i live in ohio
 
just updated mine and the new Boost prl is 61009.
seems to be working well so far. my house has a few dead spots, and i checked all over the house and no dropped calls yet.
 
Any idea what to do if ##775# doesn't take you to the input msl screen. I'm unlocked, custom recovery, rooted, on sprint, and running Saragon19's updated boost ics ROM from sdx
 
CDMA is your hope or there is a thread in warp section about a dif workshop that doesn't expire. Did it myself can't remember the name but search that forum.
 
Anybody here try 01337 ? its a hybrid saw it over at xda. Im outside of boston and 11115 is not that much different that stock.
 
On my boost Evo design I got everything right and when I select 11115 (Friend down the street is on it and it works everywhere here) it freezes and force closes. I wanna try like this instead of qbst, any ideas?
