Please explain how did you partition.

If your ext partition is the 1.5G one, then yes, it's normal.

No you can't. Only apps. So yes, bad decision.

Hi There,
Alrady partition my SD but when 1 clik link2SD appear select file system of your SD card second partion (ext2, ext3, ext4, FAT32/FAT16) when i choose on of the choices appear pop up box said " Link2SD could not gain root access, if you have root make sure you respons allow to superuser prompt", why? i'm using acer liquid froyo 2.2 (No Root)

I'm very new to this stuff myself mate, but one thing is pretty self-explanatory

That message there is pretty much telling you that your phone needs to be rooted before you can accomplish what you're trying to do, and once rooted also needs the superuser app installed
You don't say which acer liquid you actually have, but there are forums for 2 models on this page: Android Phones - Android Forums
As I said I don't know a whole lot about android phones, but you might be better getting advice on rooting your phone on the forum section that's relevant to the phone you actually have rather one dedicated to a phone made by a completely different manufacturer
Wouldn't wanna suggest you follow the instructions for rooting a sony ericsson xperia x8 when yours is an acer liquid then find out my suggestion caused you to bork your phone

Hi I am a N00b to android phones and I just got a SONY Xperia X8.
I managed to get Link2SD working on my X8 after much research.
Here is how I did it.
DISCLAIMER: Please use the info below at your own risk with no warranty of any kind.
Step 1: Backup your SD Card
Step 2: Update your Xperia X8 to Eclair 2.1 using PC Companion
Step 3a: Root your Xperia X8 (Eclair 2.1) - use SuperOneClickv1.7-ShortFuse
Step 3b: If you are successful in ROOTING your phone - SuperUser app will be installed to your Xperia X8
Step 4a: Switch off your Xperia X8 and pull out your SD Card
Step 4b: Format your SD card to FAT32 (I am using stock 2GB) - recommend you use an adapter (I used a SD CARD Adaptor)
Step 5a: Partition SD card into 2 FAT32 partitions (e.g. 1.37GB & 500MB).
Step 5b: Set both partitions to PRIMARY -> [Do not name your partitions]
Note: 1.37GB is now your phone storage and 500MB will be used by Link2SD app - so don't put stuff into that 2nd partition)
Step 6a: Put SD Card back into your Xperia X8 and restart
Step 6b: Connect Xperia X8 to PC - Mount SD Card
Step 7a: Copy your data back into your SD card's biggest partition.
Step 7b: Copy Link2SD v1.5.3 apk to the root of SD card
Note: You can get Link2SD APK from here - [App] Link2SD - xda-developers
Step 7c: UnMount your Phone (SD Card) from your PC
Step 8: Goto Market download Astro File Manager (if you don't have a File Manager)
Step 9: Launch Astro and install Link2SD
Step 10a: Launch Link2SD -> Root access required (SuperUser -> allow access) - within the Link2SD app, select the apps you want to move to SD Card and press <Create Link>
Step 10b: If your select an app that has already been linked -> you can use <Remove Link> to put the app back into your phone's memory.
IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE:
1) After you have "MOVED" all your apps to SD Card you MUST to reboot your phone in order to "See" and "Use" the apps again.
2) Apps that cannot be used or get a "Forced Quit" dialogue box will have to be reinstalled and then move again to SD Card using Link2SD app.
3) System apps cannot be moved to SD Card. You can REMOVE them by using Root Explorer app
4) If you want your installed apps to be updated via Market - Launch Link2SD & Hit the <Market Fix> button (ONLY after you have moved your apps to the SD Card and reboot your X8)
5) Use Link2SD to check your storage info - if your use the "Settings" option on your phone, you will not be able to see the 2nd partition's info.
And that's it. Have Fun!!!

using super one click , i guess ive rooted my phone..
i have an app called superuser now.. Does that show that my phone is already rooted?
i got 2 partitions, both are FAT32, when open link2sd, it asks me to choose : i chose FAT 16/ FAT 32
then loading... loading...loading
then the root access thingy pop out, please respond allow to superuser prompt or something like that........

Sorry i didn't read the instructions properly.I did create them as FAT32 - Primary but what made link2sd fail to work is , i named the partitions i guess. Then i re-partition my sd w/o naming the partitions and am now enjoying MANY great apps , not worrying about memory anymore.
BTW i have a noob question here , its not really related to this thread but then i really need help =) : SE x8 don't support Flash Player, so i cant play
vids on browser but i know that when rooted, my phone's OS or ROM ( or something similar) can be changed , and many different "things" can be done, my questions are : Is supporting flash player included in the "things"?

Im a newbie and my knowledge is, originally our phones are running on stock roms(which don't allow many things to be done) , once rooted, we can change the stock roms to customized roms...
And we can turn our phone into phones like HTC Desire or G1 or Samsung Galaxy...I NOE IM NOOB PLEASE CORRECT ME!

Hey! I am glad you manage to solve your problem.
I think its the 2 different format partitions (FAT16 and FAT32) on your SD Card that was causing the problems. Anyways... glad it worked out.
For flash-supported browser download and install <Skyfire Web Browser v3.0> from Android Market.
About Modding your Xperia X8 with Eclair 2.1.1:
You should start with installing a launcher
ADW Launcher or LauncherPro, then go to Widgets & Live Wallpaper...
That will make your phone a custom job.
The more technical stuff... you should read the forum pages carefully.
ROOT, xRecovery, Link2SD
Custom ROMs are deadly if you make a mistake you could brick your phone.
Just enjoy your Xperia X8 for now.

I'm a Viewpad 7 User and the internal storage after factory reset it's only left 140MB+ for me to install apps.
1) As I know the limitation size for the 2 partition is 2GB (that's my 2nd partition size)
2) My Stock ROM is 2.2 and yes the app2sd can be done but it's only move the apps to the SD only but not the the apps data and cache, before I use link2sd, I can honestly say when I install Angry birds, Rio and Season and uses app2sd to move the app to my SD, the internal storage still occupied by the installation data and caches that left me around 35MB only. But when I've used Link2SD everything changes, I default Link2SD auto install to 2nd partition and auto link to 2nd Partition so after I've installed around 30 apps now my main internal storage stiil have 140MB so here's the differences.
3) yes it can be use on Froyo, Gingerbread and Honeycomb, but for your device performance, it's advisable to use a faster MicroSD such as Class 4 and above, for me I'm using a Class 10 MicroSD have not tested the Class 12 if my device can recognizes such fast MicoSD.
