Root Probably a dumb question but have to ask

So first off just wanted to say that i am not a noon to smartphones abduction all that junk. I am an iphone user and developer with 9 apps in the story and have the iphone jailvroken abduction all that. I also want to start developing for android so grabbed the note.

So my question is this i have rooted my phone and if/when they release an OTA update for ICS will i loose root like i would loose the jailbreak on the iphone and have to root it again or would i keep it.

there is a app in the market called ota rootkeeper well it explains itself really and sometimes you keep the root depending on the ota but most times lose it. so i suggest you get the app and keep your root enjoy and good luck to you i hope to use your apps someday soon.
