Root Probably a dumb question (update.zip)

I have been experimenting with update.zip files for easier theming. I think i've finally written the update-script correctly. Now i'm trying to sign the update.zip, but every key i've tried has failed.

Here is my dumb question: has anyone managed to sign correctly an update.zip for the galaxy prevail? If they have, how?
 
If i remember correctly, i believe i read somewhere that a rooted phone will not sign correctly because its checking against the phones files, and since files are missing, the keys wont match. Dont quote me on this.....

PS. Has anyone actually donated to ur begging for coffee signature ever?

thats the only way your flashing anything in recovery

Lol it started as a joke. I forgot it was still there since sigs don't show up in the phandroid app.
I wish it would work because i have a horrible caffeine headache right now :/

@Shabbypenguin, how would I do this? All i've ever used is the zipsigner app
 
hahahah for teh most part, yea. i highly recommend against trying to hack samsungs servers ;) might not end well.

until clockworkmod recovery is ported, there will be no flashing via recovery mode
 
Wonderful :/ I hate this method of flashing. Better than nothing, but I miss the ease of flashing roms with my droid or even better, the theming of the LG Ally's Velocity script (amazing)

Now I guess it's time to make my own theme. I just have to figure out how to use UOT kitchen. Youtube, I guess.
 
uot kitchen is very easy to use actually.. i would suggest downloading some of teh user created themes on this forum to see how they did it using my theme flasher
