Root Probably dumb question about GB

So I just got the notification about updating to GB on my phone today. I have shabby .9 loaded and am wondering what steps I need to do to get the update to install correctly. Ive read threads about flashing stock roms with Odin, flashing back to root with Odin etc etc, but not sure which to do/try. I dont want to try something, and have it mess up the phone

Do I just need to run Odin and return to stock, then run update then one of the GB root deals?

Yeah, after talking to a few different people, looks like the answer was right there, I just didnt "understand" what steps I needed to do to get it working. Thanks to all for all the awesome and quick help today helping me update and then fix my broken phone
