Probelms with Multi-touch on generic tablet

Leaven

Lurker
Hi, I received my first tablet for xmas this year and unfortunately I'm having some issues with it. I have a no-name MID M729B tablet running Ice cream sandwich. This issue is with the touch screen, single touches register fine but as soon as the second finger touches the screen the first touch freezes in place and the second touch registers somewhere in a vertical line above the first, no matter where I actually touched the screen. I found this out using an app which shows where the touches register. I've tried recalibrating the screen in settings but it only calibrates with single touches so it doesn't really see the problem.

I don't know how to update drivers or anything like that with tablets yet, but I'm pretty good with PC stuff. My desktop runs Win7 and I've connected the tablet to it using USB but I don't know what else to do besides look at the files...

Hi leaven welcome to Android Forums.

Sounds like it's probably faulty and defective, unlikely to be any software updates either. Which is often the way with these non-brand cheap MID type devices. You'll have to return it for refund or replacement, that's all you can do with it.
