Probem after 2.1!!! How to Turn Off Wi-Fi?

Hi please help somebody! After 2.1 install i can not turn off wifi when i am at home... i try turn off it with widgets and via settings but after 5 seconds it turns on automatic again... also i noticed that after 2.1 my battery life became much shorter... sorry for mistakes.
 
Got exactly the same problem with the Mobile Network widget on my wife's phone (Slightly worrying if we take the phone abroad and start roaming)

In the end I gave up trying to fix it and just left it switched on, and then downloaded another widget to override it - Not really a fix, but it seems to have done the trick.

Maybe you could do the same for WiFi?

I seem to have resolved the problem by deleting the widget and then reloading again - it now works as it should.

what widget you are using? i am using Power Control widget which was already in android 2.1 os, but when i click turn off wifi it turns off but starts straight again after couple seconds, and my phone shows that wifi is the most using battery...
 
I have an app called juice defender that turns WiFi off when you switch your phone onto standby and turns it back on again when you turn your phone on. This saves battery and it also does other things to save battery to.

I am using the CurveFish widget - no problems since re-installing..hope this helps.
 
i install juice defender now and open it thet it made setup or something like this and it helped me now i can turn on and turn off wifi at home when i want, i uninstalled juice defender now and still i can turn off and turn on wifi easy i am very happy now :) i do not really understand what did juice defender to my phone :)
