Root Probems with cyanogen ROM

I downloaded it from the rom manager, and did the backup and everything. The ROM started and has been loading for about 10 minutes. The little droid will skate buy but it will just resume loading. Is this normal?

I installed it and rebooted ]/backed up the phone. It has been sitting at the loading screen for about 20 minutes. Should I take out the battery and just load my last ROM? Is this normal?

I don't completely remeber. I think it was Reboot and clear cache, and clear some other cache. I just took out the battery and restarted it, but its still at that loading screen. I'm really desperate, what do I do?

You need to boot your phone into recovery, and wipe data, wipe the cache, go to advanced and wipe the dalvik.

Reflash the rom, flash google apps, reboot.

press the trackball to select options when in recovery.

Pull the battery, put back in, press and hold the volume *down* button, continue to hold and press the power button down till the phone turns on, after the screen finishes loading use, the volume keys to highlight recovery, use the power button to select it.

Thank you so much! It works great. One last thing, how do I switch Ui's for example if I wanted to use Sense or something?

Can't use "sense" on cyanogen, but you can use other launchers like "launcher pro" or "zeam", they are available in the market... One thing some people do is set up the rom exactly the way they like it, then make a backup (nandroid), and do that for every rom they like, so they can easily switch back and forth between roms. Nandroids take up a lot of space so it requires a high capacity sd card.

Oh, I rooted for essentially an Incredible 2 UI. Pretty much an updated version of the incredibles UI. Any idea which ROM features an updated version of sense?

Nils business gingersense rom is the rom I use with the updated sense. It is very important to manually install this rom in recovery and do each wipe a couple times before flashing.

May I suggest you boot into recovery and look around the menus. Don't do anything, just look.

For around and read root guides. They will explain it.

I would explain it but I am not an expert.

Make sure you have latest clockworkmod recovery installed. Boot to cwm recovery. Wipe everything at least three times (data, cache,dalvik, et al) and flash. That simple.
