Help Problem : cannot disconnect calls

neen

Lurker
whenever I make a call i cannot disconnect/end the call. Once the number is dialled the screen goes blank like it has been turned off and no amount of shaking, pressing any buttons will turn screen back on. Because I cannot disconnect the call the person is stuck at the other end on the phone line.

This is also true when I take calls, but as the other person hangs up this is ok, unless I want to hang up first.

I have tried a factory reset without luck.

Any ideas ? thanks

Do you by any chance have a case on your phone?
This sounds alot like the sensor is being blocked. (The screen is supposed to light back up when you move it into the light (Away from your head)

I did something very similar until i worked out what was doing it.

Hi have the same issue, I noted that once I attend the incoming call and if the phone is in locked state before the call I am not able to disconnect whatever i do .. What sensor are you talking . .I have put back case and scratch guard in the front.. My phone is HTC Desire C .. Need Help in resolving this..

The proximity sensor, which is in the black band above the screen (with the name htc and the staus led on a Desire). It's very hard to see - I used a laser to illuminate it in order to spot it on mine ;)

Desire C is a different phone, but I guess the sensor will be in a similar place.
