Help Problem connecting to Bluetooth keyboard

Hi all, I have purchased a bluetooth keyboard from cellphoneshop.net(currently in contact with their support dept.) but I am having trouble connecting(pairing) with the keyboard. I have succesfully bluetooth connected to different models of ear pieces, a laptop an transferred files an other capable phones.

The Keyboard is a Dokingtech model K7121B. I fully charged it.

I turned on my phones bluetooth, Powered up keyboard per instructions(Hold Power button for 4 seconds until lights come on.

I then Press the pair button until pairing light flashes and release, then scan for devices on my phone.

It locates the keyboard instantly. I hover select and get a popup to "Pair and connect", select it and am instantly asked for the pin, the popup suggest "0000" or "1234", I have also tried "9999".

All of which failed with "There was a problem connecting to the keyboard".

I have held the pair button the whole time I entered each individual pin an selected done until it fails(I should mention between each attempt I restarted my phone as well as power off the keyboard and powering back on).

Phone details:
Incredible 2
Model ADR6350
Android 2.3.4
HTC Sense 2.1

Any help much appreciated.

So, I don't *think* this has been solved by anyone yet. Certainly not for the stock rom, and I have tried it out on a couple of roms to no success.

It does NOT work on RMK's Gingersense, OMGB, or Cyanogenmod.

It has something to do with the bluetooth profile of the phone - which seems like a software problem, but i don't really know.

Hope that helps.

After you put the pin "0000" go to the keyboard and type "0000" and hit enter. It will pair up. I got that far but I couldn't figure out how to connect it afterwards. I tried downloaded drivers but they all fail to connect. If you get further, let me know. I may just return this keyboard within the week.

I had this problem for over a year and finally solved it by downloading an app, from the Android Market/Play/Store, called External Keyboard Helper. I had previously downloaded a couple of other Bluetooth keyboard apps but I couldn't get them to work properly. In any case, it seems that the Bluetooth part of the Android operating system knew to use the External Keyboard Helper app as the interface or driver between my Motorola Droid 2 phone and my Dokingtech keyboard. By turning on Bluetooth on the phone, then turning on the keyboard and then pressing its pairing button until the green light flashed, and then setting the Bluetooth on the phone to "discoverable" and having it "Scan for devices", the phone and keyboard found each other. When the phone said that the keyboard wanted to pair with it, I typed "0000" and "Enter" into the box that opened up on the phone and then, for good measure, typed "0000" and "Enter" on the keyboard, and the two devices paired and connected and I was then able to use the keyboard to type text into any place on the phone. By the way, the keyboard can also play music, raise and lower the volume, etc.

The one problem I still have is that after I have disconnected the two devices, the next time I want to use the keyboard, the phone says that the keyboard is "paired but not connected", but I haven't yet been able to get the phone to connect to the keyboard just by turning on the keyboard. I've been unpairing it and re-pairing it. But I am going to experiment further because it seems as though I shouldn't have to go through the pairing procedure again.
