after a good 12 hours of troubleshooting and reading forums, I still couldnt get my problem fixed.
So, the situation:
I have ES File Explorer on my tablet.
It worked previously when I was in NY.
I moved to singapore and currently connected over wifi and my tablet to the same wifi.
I did not change any setting on my windows 7 laptop.
When I tried to scan the network, it does not show me anything.
What I have done so far:
-turn windows firewall off.
-turn COMODO off (the only other security related I have)
-Downloaded Ping&DNS , I could not ping my laptop.
-Downloaded SharesFinder, I can find my laptop ip address. I tried my cousin laptop, it does shows : SMB() . While none displayed on my laptop
-set static IP address on my laptop.
-services.msc : server and workstation is running.
-arp -a shows me my laptop and tablet ip addresses.
I dont know what is missing.
