Help problem connecting to PC

he guys, i have a question. i just got my commando a few days ago and tried connecting to my pc so that i could transfer songs and other stuff to my phone, but every time i do my pc fails to install drivers for the phone, almost like the drivers aren't there. any suggestions?

is there a way to connect my phone to my computer without rooting the phone first? i'm still not 100% sure what rooting is, why i would need it, and if it is good for the phone, so i really don't want to go that route. surely there is a way to connect the phone easier. i'm not sure who to contact, casio or verizon.

You don't need to root to use the info in that thread.
Those drivers are good for rooted and non-rooted users.

I just got a commando myself and I didn't have to install any drivers, I just had to make sure my phone was set up to act as a mass storage device when connected via usb and not just charge.

I haven't even done it via USB yet... I usually transfer stuff back and forth via bluetooth, or if i want to get bigger files like MP3's i run ES File Explorer and bring up file shares on my LAN and copy and paste to the phone, works slick!

I have a 2TB LG NAS on my network and i can copy stuff back and forth to the phone with ES File Explorer. You could share the folder containing the music on your computer and then surf to it on the LAN if your computer and phone are on the some network using WIFI and copy and paste it all to the phone from the phone.

I use my phone like a big thumb drive also, storing files on it, and then just tossing them to a computer using bluetooth or networking when i need them.

The usb cable works fine for moving files back and forth. I have used FTP for wire free movement but it seems to be slower than just using the usb cable. I have no idea of how to use bluetooth for file transfer.
