Root Problem faced with HTC Desire T Mobile!

How do i debrand my HTC Desire without sim locking it? I have unlocked it using an unlock code and now I'm using a different carrier but the problem is that i have lost the unlock code and can't risk sim locking it again. I want to root and upgrade it to 2.2 without using the goldcard method, is that possible?

If you use this method here you should have no problems.

Just take your time & you will find it is like clockwork. (excuse the pun)
 
that's very odd.. would a new unlock code do the trick? i would have thought that the phone would recognise as already being unlocked, so wouldn't accept another sim code..

You would get the same unlock code as its tied to your imei,
that's why you should always keep a note of your unlock code.
