Android Version:2.3.3 official
Network:three UK
Taskiller Used?: no
[Optional]Are You rooted & which Rom: revolutionry method no custom rom yet
Issue: i tried installing a custom rom which read
REQUIREMENTS:

- STOCK hboot: Wiped ext2, 3 or 4 partition (for APP2SD), 512+ MB - Dalvik-Cache moved on the first boot on the SD-Ext

no since it is my first time i did everything except repartitioning, the "512+ MB" part. my phone got stuch on the white screen which says HTC in green in the centre. i restored my phone to the nandroid backup i made before that and its back to normal but if someone could tell me how to make the appropriate partition or point me in the right direction that would be great. ive been looking for an hour and cant find exactly what to do

ps. the two custom roms i tried were AceSMod007 and PyramidMod007 both with the same requirements.

Easiest way I found to partition the sd card was to use GParted. I downloaded it and burnt it to a bootable CD. Rebooted the computer and booted from said CD. Put sd card into a USB card reader and partitioned it from there.

With HTC Desire I thought you need 'S-Off' before you can install a custom ROM - root access alone I don't think will do it. As you are not referring to it specifically I'd do that first.

You only need to S-Off when you're rooting if you've previously used the HTC dev gingerbread RUU. That's because the other methods (Unrevoked etc) cannot be used. Besides, reading the OP they did use the revolutionary method and must enter S-Off so this is entirely academic now :p
Being S-On should not prevent the flashing of a rom.
