Help Problem on my S3 - sometimes home button stops working

My Galaxy S3 seems to have developed a bit of an issue. Once or twice a day, when I take the phone out of my pocket and press the home button, the screen doesn't activate. The device appears potentially functional (i.e. blue notification light flashing) but nether the home or power buttons do anything.

The only thing that works for me when this happens is to press the power button for approx ten seconds. This resets the device.

Any ideas?

Well...... One thing I did do yesterday was switch it off, take the battery, SIM card and SD card out, and clean all the contacts (including the phone's contacts to the battery). Suddenly, the phone seems to be performing better.

This isn't an occasional thing BTW - the phone gets used so much when I'm on business in West Africa, I have the spare battery and charging stand. I'm guessing cleaning all the contacts might have helped.

That was temporary. Then I removed all that remained of Facebook Home (horrible BTW, I'd advise not going there). That too was a temporary fix. Then I finally did the factory reset and wow, I should do this more often. The S3 is now as buttery smooth as the day I bought it. In fact, it's more so because it has Jelly Bean, not Ice Cream Sandwich. And, I now only have the applications I actually want.

Downsides? That piece of ---- known as Keis refused to back up my call log.
