Problem streaming on 3g

Hi, Any help will be apreciated. My new Photon will not stream Youtube, Slacker, or Pandora unless I am connected to wifi. These programs load up ok but will not play. Oddly, internet radio and Netflix works fine over 3g.
There are 2 evo 4gs and an evo 3d in the house and they all work fine with wifi turned off. Just mine is acting up. All phones appear to be getting a strong signal.

Welcome to the forums!

Here's how we've solved this on the Evo for a year, and now again on the Evo 3D. This may not be set up at all the same on a Photon - but being a Sprint phone and with my assumption that they want to make their support lives straightforward, it's possible that they're all set up this way.

Start by dialing ##3282# (that's ##data#) and if you get a short menu called EPST, first chose View Mode, Advanced, scroll to bottom for RTSP/HTTP Setting, and then see if you have 4 items, 2 for ports, 2 for proxy IPs.

If so, the fix for that for most people is here:

Pandora may yet be it's own problem (they've been up and down in configuration ease as their revisions have marched up), but let's start with this and see how far we can get.

Hope this works!

If that doesn't work, call Sprint support - they can and will reset your values remotely - tell them you have a streaming media problem and that this is a known issue.

Well The store was a joke, Person I talked too said its the network and all phones were affected. I showed her the working display thats wasnt affected and my daughters which wasnt affected. I just called sprint technical and after a few attempts they told me to Call lets Talk.com (where I got the phone) and get a new one. Thanks anyway for your help.

About to box it up to send back and tried one last thing, since we do not live in a 4g area, i kept it turned off so I turn it on and all work as it should. No one elses phones in the house get 4g and I dont think mine really does either. Its like 3g and 4g are switched or something.

Never mind it quit working again. It seems I do live in a 4g area, its a very weak signal so im just now confused.

I had the same problem the first day with the phone. All I can say is this worked for me. Go to Settings...then About phone...then system updates...then update the PRL and profile...after my nephew did this the phone started really showcasing its power and I have been on cloud 9 ever since.

Two times since then you tube has failed to load a vid...but I fixed that with a reboot...a minor inconvenience.

i do not live in a 4G area really but when I am hitting download speeds of close to and over 1mbps on the average with 3G I can not complain.
