problem updating 4.1.1

I have jelly bean 4.1.1 android but like icecream sandwich there is no option to update my android any where, normally there is an option in 'settings> about phone' which is system update, but I don't have, does this mean I can not update my android at all?

It's really hard to answer this question without knowing which device you are using.

But in general, even if you had the update option, this most likely wouldn't be possible. Going from Jellybean to Ice Cream Sandwich would be a downgrade of software, which wouldn't show up in your updates anyway.

To install a different version of your OS you would need to be rooted and have a custom recovery to be able to do something like that.

Oh, okay. I misunderstood the mention of ICS in the first post, it makes sense now.

Which device is this? Might have to do a little research.

its a local brand qmobile noir a50, I can see an application of "system update" in my all apps list but no update options anywhere
