Help Problem updating to 4.5.605

Hi,
I have a Droid X (8GB) that I purchased off of eBay with a bad ESN. Whenever I do the update, it fully downloads and starts the update, but about a fourth of the way through, I receive the exclamation mark failure notice and it shuts down. At first, I thought that it might be because my phone was rooted, so I unrooted it. I thought about doing a manual update by downloading the rom, but my phone has a broken camera button so that is out of the question.

Is there any way to update my phone?

The problem is, however, that my phone has a bad camera button. Every single guide requires a working camera button for programming to work.

Yup, sorry, I missed that.

Where are you now, can you boot into your phone or not?

With a tear-down guide and a little cleaning, you might be able to fix the button.

O/w, I'd forget the update, if you're able too. When I had an X, it worked just fine on .605, running MIUI. If I still had that phone I wouldn't be updating to .621.

Right now it runs smoothly like you'd expect it too. The only problems are that one button and that it won't update. I don't know what it is on now, but it is trying to update to 605. Android OS is 2.2.1. I seemed to notice that when I pressed the camera button it had a two-click system.

I'd disable that update check and stay where you're at. I think you just have to rename a file.

Hi,

How would you recommend that I accomplish that? What filw needs renaming?

And I'm soing te update just so I can get the latest Android version.
