Root Problem upgrading to 2.3 Cyanogen Mod

Hello,

After initially updating the GT540 through LG's own proprietary software to 2.1, I found this great forum(thanks dudeman1996) and updated to 2.3 through kdz. Following the instructions, it worked great except for some major side effects.


When I try to access the settings feature (along with many other apps) I receive the error "the application settings (process com.android.settings) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."

I have windows vista and am on a laptop, so there are no "back of the tower" usb slots.

Also, now when I try to reflash the phone with the KDZ updater, it says "phone not found"

Any ideas, as I would greatly appreciate your help!

Try other ports if Windows can detect it , it should work, try to run the updater with Admin Privileges
 
Hey that was the same problem i am facing.
needed experts help, i can't connect my mobile to p.c in flash mode.
 
And i can help you to avoid force close problems.

reset your mobile(backup your data 1st)
download rom manger from marke if you don't have it
(Root your mobile must)
now click on fix permissions.
reboot you android.
that's it.
i did the same thing.
Now my device works fine.
