Help problem uploading video to vimeo

apparently vimeo doesn't like the video created by sprint Samsung Epic .. they render it with an aspect ratio which is all squashed .. ironically, the thumbnail they produce is the correct aspect ratio .. anyone have any experiences/pointers/tutorials with sprint EPIC to vimeo?

maybe try transferring the video to a computer and uploading from there.

that doesn't work either .. i was able to get it to work if I reencode it with Handbrake .. but that's another layer of complexity and time spent reencoding .. such a pain

Hmmm, unfortunately it does sound like vimeo doesnt like the video codec. Are you shooting in 720p? Maybe try bumping it down to 800x480 so you can use the h264 codec.

Does vimeo squish it to 4x3 then I assume? I'm not familiar with that site, but maybe there is a way to change the aspect ratio on there site..
