I've used the same sdcard from a previously rooted HTC desire, in my new one (also HTC Desire).

Is there something i need to delete from the SDcard so that i can root this new HTC Desire phone?

Is there anything in particular on the SD that i can delete?

I cant install unrevoked because i fail to install HBOOT. The HTC Desire is already recognised by the PC Device Manager as 'Android ADB Interface'.

Until the HTC Desire is recognized as 'ANdroid Bootloader Interface', i cant get Unrevoked installation going.

Is there a way to uninstall the "Android ADB Interface" so that i can replace it with "Android Bootloader Interface"?

The Device Manager immediately recognise the HTC Desire phone as 'Android Phone - Android ADB Interface' even without rebooting into HBOOT. (USB Debugging ON)

I got confused when you said installing hboot. You mean installing hboot drivers. And you can't install the drivers because hboot is becoming busy.
What I would do is this
- with device booted to android connect to PC and do error check of sdcard.
- if there is some Img files on the card root get rid of them
Then again try installing hboot drivers

Thanks! taht's good advise.

What i did was to remove the 'backup' subfolder within clockworkmod on my HTC Desire (effectively removing IMG files). By doing so, i was able to install my HBOOT driver successfully. Subsequently, i run the Unrevoked, but met with an error stating the following:

Error: failed to get root. Is your firmware too new?

I did a OTA update just a week back though its still froyo 2.2

What options do i have next to continue rooting?

Hi! it looks like it works. Just tried Unrevoked a second time with the latest version from the net and it's done. ;o) thanks a whole lot!

Looks like you got rid of some nandroids. But what were they doing there in the first place if you were not rooted.
