Help Problem with android on VirtualBox

Where did you obtain this Android-x86 Lollipop build from? Do you know if it's actually supposed to work in VirtualBox, because maybe it was built to run on specific hardware.

Any way give me any Virsion of android Can run on Laptop My labtop Is { hp pavilion g6 2105sx }

Hardware specifications :-
- Ram 4 GB
-Processor 8
- system type 64 Bit
- Windows 7 ultimate

Thing is, OSs running in VirtualBox don't really care about the actual PC or laptop hardware, or even what the host OS is, Win, Mac OS X or Linux.

So you really need to go here, and see what they got. They do have builds specifically for VirtualBox.

Bare in mind Android running on PC x86 hardware is very alpha, and in constant development. So don't be surprised if things don't work.

If you want something for your particular laptop's hardware, and it's not there, you'd have to build it yourself.

There's also, but this is a Chinese site.

FWIW I have looked at and tried Android-x86 in the past, but not recently and not Lollipop.

What's Android like on a computer mate? Kinda like an Android TV box?

I've had 4.3 and 4.4 Android x86 running in VirtualBox on a Macbook and a PC laptop. If you want to run it directly and supported, you do have to have the correct hardware, like certain Asus laptops. That's the builds on the site.

It seemed stable and usable. Yeh, it is just like using an Android TV box and controlling it with a keyboard and mouse. There are a few apps and games that won't work though, they just crash.

You can get Android laptops and netbooks, but they're not actually PC hardware though, they're ARM devices, like you find in most other Android phones and tablets.

Ah right, mobile CPUs?
A dont even own a pc/Mac but recently got a cheap 4.3 Android tv box and cheap wee BT keyboard/trackpad and love it. Only issue is All4 and Demand5 claim it's rooted (which it isnt) so won't run :(
Been in touch with their support (well channel 4's , ch5 don't even seem to have a tech email addy for their app) and aparently they're 'working on it for me " but I'm not holding ma breath :thumbsupdroid:

Things like Demand5 can be rather finnicky about what they run on, Sky Go was the same, when I tried it on my Oppo F7 that had CyanogenMod at the time. Daddy's Samsung Tab, no problems they all work just fine. Android TV boxes and HDMI dongles, they're definitely "Chinese", "off-brand" and "unknown manufacturer" many of them. :thumbsupdroid: Same with most of the Android laptops and netbooks as well.

However there are laptops like this though....

A dual system, Android 4.4 and Win 8.1, Intel Atom Baytrail, which is x86 not ARM. 16GB storage is not going to leave much space though, especially if it's Windows and Android on there.

I'd love one if I had the cash mate. My box cost me like 23 qid (Chinese off brand) and keyboard was a bargain at 13qid.
Mad thing is, these apps that won't run on my "rooted" box ran fine on my phone when it was rooted. Go figure (as they say in murica) :D
