Help Problem with answering phone

Ok, kinda a silly problem but maybe someone can help ........ every time I goto get my phone out of my pocket when it rings, it either answers or hangs up / sends a busy signal and I miss the call. I'm not hitting the rocker buttons or power button when getting out of my pocket. Is there a way to make it less sensitive ? I tried "locking" the phone but that doesnt stop it from answering itself before I can get the darn thing out of my pocket.

i believe the problem is that it is rubbing against your leg as it slides out. if the phone is right side up and you slide it out then the answer bar is being dragged down to answer and vice versa if the phone is upside down in your pocket then as you remove it the bar is pushed up to do drag up to ignore (hang up).

I dont know if that makes sense but i had it happen to me sometimes if i placed it in my pocket screen facing out then it happens less often. and even less if it is facing out and i remember to stick my entire hand in my pocket to cover the screen as i pull it out.

you can try the easy answer button app (free) or widgetlocker ($2 but well worth it, i use this) has a hide incoming call feature that when you receive a call will hide the htc call screen so you have to slide sideways to unlock then the original incoming call screen appears with caller id and you slide down to answer. since the slider for widget locker is side to side and not up and down like the HTC slider you are less likely to answer while pulling it out of your pocket.

I've had the same experience, for me what happens is one of my fingers is accidentally swiping the screen up while I'm handling the phone to get it out of my pocket. This is particularly true when I'm sitting and it's harder to get the phone out without tugging on it.

I'm going to try this app. Maybe the people who designed this phone don't wear pants so they never have to get their phone out of their pocket :-)

Great tip! I installed widgetlocker today and have not experienced the un-pocketing call reject since.

I am having the same problem with my HTC inspire, can't pull it out of my pocket before call is declined. I did a search on ATT Android market for Easy Answer and I got a mile long list of useless apps and games. Is Easy Answer still available? If so, does someone have a simple way to narrow it down in the Android app junk yard?

Thanks

Vin

I installed Widget Locker but the HTC phone slider over rides it when a call comes in. So I still have the same problem of accidently declining calls when removing the phone from my pocket. Is there a setting to make Widget Locker over ride the phone slider?
