Help problem with apps storage

stranzer

Newbie
hi i bought my galaxy s2 new one 2day and this is my first android phone..so when i tried to install apps, all the apps are installed in Device memory which is 1.9 GB but how can i move them to USB storage which is 11.5 GB

i when to settings>applications>memory usage>and clicked on move to SD card(which im thinking is USB storage) but im getting a message "faied to move application not enough memory" and if i keep on install the apps my device memory gets full.... and is there any setting like my downloaded apps directly use the USB storage..

I don't think you can do this (Although rooting may open new possibilitys here in the future...).

It is possible to move apps to the sd card, so if you are worried about storage then get a big sd.

However, 1.9GB is a LOT of space for apps (One of the largest in the market I think Android-wise). I have loads of HD games, about 5 browsers, 6 music players and every other app I would ever need. I still have almost half my app memory left. Seriously, don't worry about it until you actually run out (Which I think is very unlikely).

I was also thinking about this issue. No doubt 1.9 GB is huge, but it will fill up. In 7 days I am upto 137 MB.
But I am able to move most of the apps to my SD card, except 2 right now, all are installed on SD.

so is rooting legal? i mean will i loose my warranty if i root. i am guessing rooting means jail break right?

Yeah, they are the same idea. It will void warranty if that's something you care about. It's not illegal.

The apps have to be installed on the device. I don't see my 1.9gb ever filling up. I have tons of apps installed and I'm in 777mb at the moment. That's a fraction of available memory.

but whats the point in having 11.5 GB just only for songs and videos.....

I think you are worrying about something that will not become a problem. You should be able to load all the software you want and not run out of room. If you do, then you are just loading your device up with junk!

Just relax and enjoy.;)
