Help Problem with "back button" while texting

So since the update I have had the common problem with numbers showing up versus names when receiving text messages but I have another problem that is driving me crazy.

I tend to have to use the back button to correct my text messages quite frequently and since the update it seems that if I hit the back button a few times in a row in order to erase and retype a letter it randomly brings me to another screen in which I can delete texts. From there I have to hit CANCEL and then it brings me back to my current text without a keyboard. I text so often that it's killing me that this keeps happening.

I did a quick search and a google search and didn't notice that anyone else had this issue so I thought I would post. So far the update seems more like a beta than anything that should have been released.

Unfortunately, as will all the issues that have crept into the messaging app, the best way to deal with it is to try a different app. I use Handcent and haven't had any major issues. GoSMS also seems to be a popular choice.

Im having this issue too. When I use the backspace button it sends me to the screen to delete old text. It does it in land scape, but not portrait. But I notice when I use the app EVER NOTE and use the backspace button it never sends me to the screen to delete old text.
